The University of Montreal, sometimes known as UdeM, is a public research university located in Québec, Canada. Theology, law, and medicine were the first three departments established when the university was established in 1878.
Located atop Mount Royal, the university's main campus is over 65 acres and includes a network of roads, pathways, and green spaces. It is estimated that there are 40 structures on campus and the well-known Roger Gaudry Pavilion.
The university's 13 colleges and schools include everything from music to natural science, law to the humanities and health care services. It owns and operates 27 healthcare facilities and two affiliated schools, HEC Montréal (Business School) and Polytechnique Montréal (Technical School). Other than that, students may choose from 600 graduate and undergraduate programmes.
