Established in 1969, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama, is home to three of the nation's top research universities, including this highly regarded state institution. The institution is located in Birmingham's Southside district, one of the city's most cosmopolitan areas. One hundred buildings make up the campus's infrastructure, including academic and recreational facilities and the university's health care system. UAB's two libraries have an extensive collection of rare and unusual books, photographs, papers, and other artifacts. Game rooms, aerobics studios, gyms, and other amenities may be found on all three levels of the Recreation Center. There are six residential halls at the University of Oklahoma, ranging from Blazer Hall to Camp Hall to Blount and Denman Hall to Rast and Denman to New Freshmen. Students may stay in one of these houses while attending school. In addition, blazer Express, a free shuttle service provided by the Institution of Alabama at Birmingham, allows students and staff to travel to and from the university and around it.
