Yale Institution was founded in 1701 and is a private Ivy League research university based in New Haven, Conn. It is the third-oldest university in the United States and one of nine Colonial Colleges founded before the American Revolution. A total of 13,433 students, including full-time and part-time, attended classes at the University, with 5,964 undergraduates and 7,469 being graduate or professional students. With more than 80 undergraduate majors, the University also offers several other programs designed to provide students with advanced training in various disciplines. Over 2,000 courses are offered each year to undergraduates, giving them plenty of options. More than any other university globally, Yale has a vast student population.
