In 1931, Tampa Junior College became the forerunner of today's University of Tampa. In 1933, it was given its current name, the University of Tampa. Tampa, Florida, the main university campus is situated on Kennedy Boulevard and provides students with a lively educational environment. There are 11 contemporary residential halls at the university, 28 food outlets, and around 300 student groups, sports teams, and other clubs and organizations. Softball, football, soccer, basketball, and ultimate Frisbee are just some of the sports students may play on and off-campus.
