Lakeland College is a post-secondary institution located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. It is supported by the government and has two locations in Vermilion and Lloydminster, both public universities. There are less than a dozen student-run working farms in Canada, and Lakeland College is among the biggest on the continent. Crops and animals make up the two main parts of a farm.

Crop technology students use student Managed Farm (SMF) to practice current grain farming skills, such as equipment operation, grain, and oilseed and specialty crop marketing, administration of farm finances, and operation and use of GPS/GIS technology. While studying agricultural technology, students work on the 2,300-acre farm harvesting crops. This is the time of year when students sell, harvest, and prepare for the spring planting of the produce they had grown throughout the summer.

Lakeland College was initially founded to teach agriculture, but it has since expanded its scope while still holding on to its agricultural origins. Currently, Lakeland students are enrolled in agricultural sciences, business, environmental sciences, fire and emergency services, health and wellness, human services, interior design technology, apprenticeship and pre-employment trades training, street rod technologies, and university transfer courses.
