Yukon University (formerly Yukon College) is a government-funded institution of higher learning in the Yukon region of Canada. Even though the university's main campus is located in Whitehorse, the school has 12 other locations around the territory. Degrees, diplomas, and certificates are all awarded by the institution, offering trades and vocational training and adult primary education. In addition, the university is the only one located in northern Canada.
Located just north of downtown Whitehorse, the university's main campus, or Ayamdigut, is a plateau that descends 20–25 meters (66–82 feet) to the east, south, and west. However, much of the campus acreage is undeveloped beyond the inner center of the property's 97 hectares (240 acres). The city administration has designated specific locations along McIntyre Creek for environmental protection.
