In 1957, Lethbridge Community College became Lethbridge College. For the first time in Canadian history, a public college was established to serve the whole country. It is a component of a network of rural development organizations in Alberta. ACCC, CCAA, AACTI, and CBIE are all organizations the college belongs to.

More than 50 job disciplines are available at the institution, including preparatory studies, training for vacations, and programs for university transfer in more than a dozen of those professions.

The University of Alberta, University of Calgary, and Athabasca University all have transfer agreements with the institution. Academic advising, Alumni Engagement, Buchanan Library, Centre for Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Financial Aid and Student Awards, Residence Life, Wellness Services, etc., are some of the essential departments of the institution.

The college maintains regional campuses in Claresholm, Vulcan County, Crowsnest Pass, and its main campus in Lethbridge.
