Okanagan Institution, located in Summerland, British Columbia, was the first college to open in the province. There are four primary campuses in Okanagan. On the shores of Okanogan Lake, Kelowna is the place to be. The Okanagan language refers to Kelowna as a "grizzly bear." On the Kelowna Campus, work was done to repair and extend the Trades Complex.

Located in the middle of two lakes, Penticton's second campus is Penticton Lakeside. In Vernon, a city named for former British Columbia MLA Forbes George Vernon, the third campus is Salmon Arm, a popular tourist destination. In the summer serves as the fourth campus.

Sustainable Construction Management Technology (SCMT) is a well-known program in Okanagan. Located at the Penticton Campus is the Jim Pattison Centre of Excellence. Students in this program learn about green building practices and sustainable construction methods. Okanagan College has a strong commitment to the environment as its key principle.
