This institution was founded in January 1969 and is now known as the College of New Caledonia. It was created only to allocate operational cash. The participating school districts contributed to the start-up costs of the College of New Caledonia. In addition, the Prince George Senior Secondary School provided the necessary infrastructure for CNC's operations. Administrative Science, Early Childhood Education, Original Year University Arts and Science, and Data Processing were some of the first programs offered at the College of New Caledonia. CNC recruited professors to teach these classes one at a time. There were around 253 students from all participating areas that were accepted. The Hudson's Bay Company's fur-trading site inspired the school's name. Explorer Simon Fraser gave the area its name. There were no more than 37 pupils in a single class required by their professors. The College of New Caledonia is located in British Columbia's Central Interior. Prince George, Quesnel, and Nechako lakes school districts are included in this area, with 145,000 people. New Caledonia's College of New Caledonia has six campuses around the province.
