Alexander College was founded by the British Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education in 2006. Sir Alexander Mackenzie, a Scottish novelist and fur trader, inspired the college's name. Several organizations, including the Degree Quality Assurance Board (DQAB) and the Education Quality Assurance (EQA) program, now recognize the institution as accredited. Additionally, it is a member of the BC Transfer Network. Both Vancouver and Burnaby are home to Alexander College's metropolitan campuses in British Columbia. The college's Vancouver campus is located at the intersection of Hastings and Seymour Streets, one block from the Waterfront Skytrain Station in the city's heart. The Burnaby campus is located at Kingsway and McKay Streets, approximately one block from the Metrotown Skytrain Station. In addition to the state-of-the-art physical infrastructure on each campus, the Writing and Learning Center, bookshops, and other academic resources available are of the highest quality.
