In 1965, four local universities merged to become the Vancouver Community College, today known as the University of British Columbia. The King Edward Senior Matriculation and Continuing Education Center, the Vancouver School Board's Night School Program, the Vancouver School of Art, and the Vancouver Vocational Institute were the four institutions. The Vancouver City College was formed due to the amalgamation of all of the schools in the city. A total of three campuses make up the Vancouver Community College. Hamilton is home to the university's initial campus (200 Block Dunsmuir). The Downtown campus is the name given to it. Vancouver's SkyTrain serves this campus, making it easy to go about. The address of VCC's second campus is 1155 East Broadway. The Broadway campus is well-known. The entire cost of building this facility was $55 million. Vancouver Community College and several community contributors contributed $11 million, with $44 million coming from the province of British Columbia.
