About the Program
Rotary Club of Bundaberg Sunrise Scholarship 2021-22 is an initiative from undergraduate and postgraduate students of the university. This scholarship aims to support new and continuing students enrolled at CQ University in an Education or Learning Management Bachelor or Postgraduate course to pursue their degree within the Bundaberg region. The selected students will receive AUD 3,000.
The Rotary Club of Bundaberg Sunrise Scholarship will provide recognition and financial assistance to a new or continuing undergraduate or postgraduate education student completing their degree within the Bundaberg region.

Eligibility
To be eligible, an applicant must:
Be pursuing Undergraduate and Postgraduate coursework in Education or Learning Management
Be an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident/Permanent Humanitarian Visa/International/New Zealand Citizen
Be enrolled or intending to enroll at CQ University in Term 1, 2022
Have a residential postcode in the Bundaberg Region (4620-4675)
Be enrolled at CQ University at the time of Census Date in Term 1, 2022
Not be receiving multiple CQUniversity Scholarships that exceed the annual value of $10,000
Benefits
The selected scholars will receive AUD 3,000.

Applicants will be assessed based on an application form and a written submission of no more than 500 words addressing the following:
Career goals and how the scholarship will assist the candidate in achieving the educational objectives
Extracurricular activities – especially community and volunteering activities and demonstration of leadership
Life experiences

The successful applicant is required to enter the current financial institution details (banking details) into the MyCentre for payment to occur. This must be done prior to Census Date to avoid delays.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Expectations of Recipients
As an added professional development opportunity, all scholarship recipients are expected to engage with Blackbullion, an online interactive financial literacy platform. Scholarship recipients must complete the “budgeting” pathway + 1 (one) other module of their choice prior to payment being made.
As a scholarship recipient, you will be asked to participate in a feedback survey. You may also be approached to assist with positively promoting CQUniversity’s Scholarship program by sharing your experiences as a recipient through media or invited to attend events such as Orientation or Open Days.
Payment of Scholarship
The successful applicant is required to enter their current financial institution details (banking details) into their MyCentre for payment to occur. This must be done prior to Census Date to avoid delays.
Payment will be made to the successful applicant in Week 6 after final post Census Date eligibility and Blackbullion engagement checks in
Payment for $3,000 will be credited electronically to the student’s nominated bank account.

A selection panel, consisting of representatives from Rotary Club of Bundaberg Sunrise will be formed to determine the successful applicant in each instance. A scholarship will only be offered where there is an applicant/s of sufficient merit. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications as soon as possible after the selection panel meets.
