What is B.El.Ed.?
A bachelor's degree in elementary education is a professional degree programme that provides training in the field of elementary education. The NCTE is the body in charge of ensuring the quality of the B.El.Ed. course and the institutes that offer it.
Its goal is to instil subject knowledge, communication skills, child psychology, and pedagogical knowledge. Both Hindi and English versions of the programme are available. The four-year academic programme is divided into two phases at the institutes that offer this course. The first phase, which lasts three years, focuses on classroom lectures and theoretical subjects. The remaining one year is devoted to hands-on training. It is offered in both Hindi and English languages.
