Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) is a private university located in Gangtok, Sikkim, India. It was formerly called Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical and Technological Sciences. The Sikkim Manipal University was the first Government - Private joint venture or agreement between the Government of Sikkim and the Manipal Education & Medical Group (MEMG). The university was originally established in 1995 as Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical and Technological Sciences. Later, the name was changed to Sikkim Manipal University in 2010.

The University offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, PhD and Management Programs in Engineering, Medical, Sciences and many fields.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

MD/MS

Candidates must complete their MBBS with internship completion. The selection is based on the NEET score.

M.Sc.

Candidates must complete 50% marks in B Sc pass in biotechnology/ life science/other biological sciences. Selection is based on Merit, based on marks in the qualifying examination.

M.Sc. (Nursing)

Candidates must complete B Sc Nursing / Post Basic B Sc Nursing with 55% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC). Selection is based on Merit, based on marks in the qualifying examination.

MPT

Candidates must complete BPT with 50% aggregate marks. Selection is based on Merit, based on marks in the qualifying examination.

M.Com.

Candidates must have a B.Com degree with relevant marks. Selection is based on Merit, based on marks in the qualifying examination.

MA

Candidates must have a BA degree with relevant marks. The Selection is based on Merit, based on marks in the qualifying examination.

PhD

Candidates must have a Master’s degree of this University or its equivalent of another recognized University or Institute with a minimum of 55% marks

The degree should be relevant to the area of PhD

As per UGC guidelines, a relaxation of 5% is given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently-Abled and other categories of candidates. Admission is based on Qualifying the entrance test solely.
